Lame Duck Chairman

Despite his defeat in the primary, Kent Grusendorf will resume his role as chairman of the House Public Education Committee during the upcoming special session. The San Antonio Express-News recently reported that:

Grusendorf will be in charge of the school finance bill in the special session, because Craddick plans to keep the veteran lawmaker as chairman despite his lame duck status.

At least Grusendorf won’t have to worry about drafting a letter of resignation if the Legislature fails to pass a school finance bill.
